Food Northwest Awards 2009
MIC members Friendly Food and Drink, from Staveley near Kendal, won the Fine Food Producer of the Year Award 2009 and the Best New Speciality Product 2009 for their diabetic-friendly Chocolate & Orange Curd, after also winning the Chutneys & Preserves category in the Fine Food Northwest Awards 2009.
Two other MIC Members were also successful at the awards: Moody Baker from Alston in the Supply Chain Solutions category; and Ginger Bakers from Kendal in the Cakes, Puddings & Sweet Pastries, Biscuits and Confectionery category.

Traditional Cumberland Sausage Campaign
The Cumberland Sausage Association and Made in Cumbria are currently campaigning to give Traditional Cumberland Sausages the same protection as products like Champagne, Parma Ham and Greek Feta cheese. A new website - traditionalcumberlandsausage.com - has been launched as part of the campaign.
